Laura Volpintesta BFA Parsons 1995, founded Fashion Illustration Tribe, an educational and community site for fashion design and illustration, after 15 years teaching Patternmaking, Draping, Sewing, and Illustration, Portfolio, Concept Development, Tech Design/Drawing and Model Drawing. Moved by a desire to "undo" the unrealistic proportions predominantly used in fashion art and to inspire fashionistas to get the skills to create their own images for fashion's future. Balancing technical and professional with creative, Laura's online courses and live workshops/ lectures inspire fashion designers from beginner to more experienced to look at sustainability, diversity, positivity and joy in their design processes, business models, images, and messages.
