Figure Drawing is a journey
Figure drawing is the foundation and gateway into the glorious world of fashion design illustration. Through studying and observing the balance, flow and proportions of the human figure, and primarily the female standing figure, as a springboard into all drawing.
With the fashion / standing, posed figure as our focus, we will learn and master structure, put it into practice and then slowly and intentionally UNDO the structure as we allow flow, shape, energy, feeling, form, and intuition take over.
It’s an exciting journey!
And whenever we feel we’ve gone “too far” over the wild and free edge, we’ll come back to the basic structure as an anchor-point.
In Model Drawing Magic Mastery, we move back and forth between expansive exercises and grounding tools to bring a raw personal fingerprint into your work, find the voice that effortlessly flows out of you, and develop your relationship with it.
SELF- DISCOVERY THROUGH SKILLS
This includes recognizing what you love about yourself, about fashion and the figure.
- What do you love about your expressions, and which aspects you reject, find “unworthy”, wrong, or believe you have to change?
- Why? All of this can become a empowering part of the process.
- As you focus in, you can feel the beliefs that hold you back.
- These beliefs fall away as your technique becomes more focused and experienced, allowing raw expression to come up and guide the way to your personal style in fashion drawing

And that said, learning to DRAW in itself is a journey, and MODEL DRAWING MAGIC is a foundation for a lifetime of expressive communication and expression (and imagination) through the figure, poses, balance, movement, texture and form.

EMBODIMENT, experiential learning, through PLAY and curiosity, enjoyment and physical movement, are the most powerful ways to RECEIVE and LEARN new information and create new neuropathways for mastery, accuracy, artistic expression, creativity, figure drawing (dance, ANYTHING new you are learning!)
MINDSET in figure drawing for fashion (and beyond)
I believe that HOW WE LEARN is what matters most. The atmosphere and underlying message in any class, especially one that deals with expression and creativity, can be encouraging, opening and healing, or can potentially damaging.
I am here to create an atmosphere where you can come as you are and release limiting beliefs around what is possible for you and heal your relationship with your own expression- thus enabling it to flourish.
